The Malaysian Quality Evaluation System (MyQUEST) for Private Colleges was introduced by the Ministry of Higher Education in 2009. It has been identified as one of the frameworks to evaluate and assign quality and performance ratings for private colleges. The MyQUEST for private colleges has been administered to private colleges for a total of three cycles of evaluation and rating processes since its first launch in 2011. Ratings generated by MyQUEST form an important indicator and reference for decision making to interested parties. An important activity in the Empowered Governance shift, which is a long term aspiration, is the requirement of Private Higher Education Institutions is to participate in the enhanced national quality assurance frameworks like SETARA and MyQUEST. In particular the role of MyQUEST is important and crucial to PHEIs’ relevance and sustainability and therefore PHEIs must strive to be competitive and perform in the MyQUEST evaluation and rating exercise.
